Join us on Wednesday 5th May from 5:30pm at the DABS online social networking event with guest speakers Isabella West and Emily Wade from Hirestreet, who are helping to protect the environment by hiring out clothes to consumers.
Every time we use resources; time, money, and material – we choose what to create – and of course, this is fundamentally driven by consumer demand. With fast fashion, there is a situation dangerously out of balance. Resources are being inputted, but the end-use of these products is far from efficient – buying to wear once is fundamentally wasteful – and the environment is paying the true cost.
Buying something to wear it once had always bothered Hirestreet founder Isabella West, who started her first sustainable fashion venture aged 17. She now runs, fashion rental platform Hirestreet which has saved consumers over £900,000 by renting instead of buying, and rental technology platform Zoa – which powers large retailers in the world of circular fashion.
Emily Wade from Durham, is Chief Marketing Officer of both Hirestreet and Zoa. Emily was the first member of staff to join Isabella back in 2018. She is responsible for scaling the platform to over one million site users in less than 2 years. She also manages the acquisition pipeline for Zoa clients.
Hear from Isabella about why she started up the business and the lessons she has learnt along the way.
